Interview FR
A= J'étais TRES content!
A= Absolument!
Interview ENG
Q= You started your career at the age of 22, have you always wanted to become an actor?
A= I was definitely always interested in acting and film/television from a young age, mostly I loved watching and thoroughly enjoyed movies in particular! Growing up in Vancouver, there was a lot of filming going on. They filmed a Disney movie in my backyard when I was about 10, which kind of lit the fire. Additionally, my high school was one of the regular locations for 21 Jump Street, which was about the best thing EVER at the time…
Q= Dark Angel was one of your first roles, how went the auditions to obtain the role of Rafer?
A= Originally, Rafer was just supposed to be in the one episode. I read the character description and scenes and thought it would be fun ;) After filming, “Meow" I went to Europe for the summer, joined an agency and began working there. I was called while I was in the UK (just about to start filming something new) to come back and play ‘Rafer.’ Only kicker was that I had to ‘audition’ again for producers as the role was much larger now. I flew to Vancouver and auditioned on tape (live), sent it in and was relieved when I got the role (again)!
Q= What was your reaction seeing that Rafer had a bigger role in season 2 than in the first one?
A= I was VERY happy!
Q= Some actors don't watch their work, do you have ever watched DA? If so, what do you think of it?
A= I have watched it a few times, it’s super weird to watch yourself, or anyone else you know well for that matter! I really loved that show in general and it carries with it special memories, not just because I experienced it but because lots of my friends were on it, too.
Q= If there had been a third season, do you know if Rafer was coming back? Would you have said yes to play Rafer again?
A= Absolutely!
Q= You mainly had scenes with J.Alba, M.Weatherly, A. Scott and K.Durand did you had affinities with anyone in particular? Do you keep in touch with members of the cast?
A= I was friends with all of them at the time. Kevin and I would see each other a lot as we used to live in the same building, coincidentally! I ran into Michael a couple years ago and we caught up, too. All great people.
Q= Michael Bower and Richard Gunn told us that the atmosphere was positive and professional, how did you perceive the atmosphere on the set?
A= Without question, everyone was great. Lots of the crew/production are still around and have continued to have amazing careers.
Q= Among the scenes you film on DA, which one was the most memorable and why?
A= For sure the bar scene in “Boo”, this is for good reason, it was filmed on September 11th, 2001. Lots of people on set, including the director had family in NYC and a lot of the studio shows completely shut down that day. We kept filming, and it was very surreal to do the scenes, which were supposed to have a comedic tone—then the second we would cut some people would start crying, immediately get on phones and run to the nearest TV. It was insane. But we filmed it all day and pulled it off!
Q= What do you think of your DA experience, what did it brought to you?
A= I was honored to be a part of that show, with such incredible fans. Really for a show that lasted only a couple seasons it was high impact for sure! Great people, an amazing early experience in film for me.
Q= Your filmography stops in 2012, do you want to continue filming or did you move on now? What do you do now?
A= I am a realtor now, extremely busy and loving it! I had always been interested in real estate and have enjoyed it for sure. I have less time for filming, but suppose if the right thing came up I would be very interested, not to change careers, just to do something I have a special place for!
Q= Any last words for the fans...
A= Very flattered that you all would want to hear from me, and thank you for watching the show!
